The ID47mm side‑opening 3D universal drag chain is a high‑performance three dimensions universal cable carrier engineered specifically for high flexible robotic and automation applications requiring rotations in multi axis dimensions. Unlike traditional cable drag chains that are limited to single movement, this  series multi axis energy chain features a ball‑and‑socket joint design that allows omnidirectional bending and torsion of up to ±10° per link, enabling smooth cable guidance through multi‑axis trajectories.The standout feature of 47mm universal robotic cable chains are its side‑opening design – each link can be opened from the side without tools, allowing quick cable insertion, replacement, or inspection. This eliminates the time‑consuming process of threading cables through a closed chain, significantly reducing downtime during installation and maintenance.

How to choose the right size and length for a 3D cable track chains :

   (1)  Determine the inner dimensions :

     ● Inner height ≥ (max outer diameter × 1.1)

     ● Inner width ≥ (sum of outer diameters of all lines + clearance) × 1.1

(2)Calculate the length:

     ● Standard Horizontal Travel:Length = (Stroke S / 2) + Offset ΔM + K(ΔM is the distance from the fixed end to the center of the travel stroke)

     ●  Robot Multi-Axis Motion:Empirical estimation or joint angle testing: Obtain the maximum working angle of each joint through motion simulation software or actual measurement

  (3)  Select the critical bending radius:

     First, refer to the specification sheet provided by the cable/hose manufacturer – this is the most accurate data;

    Second ,Refer to the following empirical values:

     ●Highly flexible cable: ≥ 7.5 × cable diameter

     ●General flexible cable: ≥ 10 × cable diameter

     ●Air/water hose (pressure < 1000 psi): ≥ 10 × hose diameter

     ●Hydraulic hose (pressure > 1000 psi): ≥ 12 × hose diameter
